Microverse Manager
Welcome to Microverse Manager, where you can create an entire universe in a bottle.
In this game, you'll start with a ball of dirt and some algae, which houses bacteria and organics. The bacteria eat the organics and produce nutrients for the algae to eat, which in turn produce oxygen. If the algae starve, they themselves turn into organics and begin the cycle anew.
When you've seen enough, pop the cork off the bottle and reap your resources to buy new ones in the shop: more algae, glowing microbes, all the way up to more multicellular organisms. Stuff your new acquisitions in the bottle, reseal it, and watch it blossom into something new, or collapse into a pile of goo.
This game is a submission to my first game jam.
Unfortunately, I was only able to get a grid simulating resources in the bottle up and running before life got in the way of my participation. The grid is divided into cells of 4 colored tiles which represent the contents of the cell. Blue for Water, Gray for CO2, Light gray for O2, Green for Nutrients, Brown for Organics. You can watch the resources settle over time, but that's about it.
